Spending Increased 4.5% in 2004-2005

MDR’s research team has completed our annual update of K-12 public school financial data and the news is good, with total school expenditures increasing to approximately $370 billion and spending for instructional materials growing by 5% over the 2003-2004 school year.

This marks the second consecutive year of spending increases and certainly indicates a healthy education market climate. This data is valuable because it reflects actual expenditures rather than forecasts or budget estimates.
